- Clarified Olive Oil Bottle from 1838 shipwreck of L'Herminie off
Bermuda
Hand-blown glass with pontil bottom, hand-made lip, height 11".
Glass-stamped seal (i.e. "sealed bottle") that reads "HUILE D'OLIVE SUR FINE - CLARIFEE BORDEAUX".
This bottle is the same one pictured on page 133 (item 8) of the book
"History Under The Sea" by Mendel Peterson.
Purchased from dealer Al Steidel who knows book's author.
Perfect condition except for small chip in lip. Very light-weight.
