Who is Pat Goodwin?
Pat Goodwin was the first insurance agent in North Carolina to specialize in meeting the insurance needs of the classic and antique car owner. As co-owner of the John Walke Insurance Agency, she wrote thousands of insurance policies for North Carolina antique car owners with liability as low as $35 a month. In mid 1997 she sold her interest in the John Walke Insurance Agency, her intention was to enjoy being a grandma. Since then hundreds of old car owners have asked her to reconsider and help them to obtain low cost collector car coverage. Pat now works for Classic Car Services on a part-time basis. this allows her to be able to maintain a close friendship with the owners of the cars she loves and still have time to be grandma.
Liability as low as $35?
Car collectors who own a car that is at least 25 years old can usually qualify for the $35 a year liability rate. Those who do qualify also have to purchase comprehensive and collision for their old car. Rates for comp/collision are based on the value of the car. If the car was made before 1946 comp/collision cost $0.55 per hundred dollars of value. If made in 1946 or later it cost $0.65 per hundred dollars. As an example a 1957 Chevrolet valued at $20,000 would cost $130 for comprehensive and collision for a year. Add this to the $35 for liability and the total bill would be $165!
