The Cary Repeater consist of a commercial Vertex VXR 5000 with a Pacific
Research, RI-310 Controller including a 120 minute DVR and programing
software. A modem is used at the site to download and retrieve the
controller data by phone line.

presently Running 22 Watts out the Decibel DB-4070 BP/BR duplexer. The
site at ground level is 508 Feet ASL. Antenna Height is 150 feet to the
antenna. The height above the average terrain is 264 Feet. The antenna
is a 465 Mhz cut Decibel DB 408, 6.6 db gain omni with a 24 inch side
mount on the North side of a Rhon 25 tower also mounted on the North side
of the Water Tanks catwalk. The feed line consist of 7/8" Andrews Hard
line with LMR-400 Jumpers.

UPS and Generator Power backup.
The repeaters coverage is nulled to the South due to its location on the
Tower. It has consistent Mobile coverage on I - 40 at Hillsboro to the
east at Exit 319, HWY 210 in Johnston County and on Hwy 70 East to Wilson
Mills.
US 1 North pass Wake Forest and US 1 South to Sanford.
Features include a Private Auto
patch and other Private functions.
The repeater requires a 100 Hz PL to access and is passed on the COS.
This will allow for cross band repeat and so will the short squelch tail.
The Public functions include a Emergency Auto patch ( * 9 1 1 )
S- Meter ( * 3 2 ) Time ( 5 6 ) Time and Temp ( * 4 5 6 ) If a
Amateur does not have PL tone encode on their transceiver he or she can
enter
( # 1 9 ) and it will turn the PL Off
The Repeater is planned to be linked in the Summer to the K4JDR 444.150+
100 PL proposed repeater outside of Clayton. coverage will extend to
Goldsboro when traveling on Hwy 70, This site has a 2 meter Remote Base.
The 444.150+ Seven Springs repeater is off the air due to a direct
Lightning strike and a new proposed Frequency will be issued. The future
plans are to link Seven Springs with Clayton UHF. Also on the table is
to link the Kinston 444.575+ repeater in with Seven Springs or Clayton
UHF.
Experimentation on other linking possibilities will take place and it is
subject to change. The 147.390+ 88.5 PL in Clayton may also be looked
at.
The Cary Repeater has a UHF Remote Base and will be linked to Middlesex
NE4J 444.650+179.9 on demand sometime this Summer. This will also be
changeable to other UHF Repeaters if the need arises for emergencies
such as Skywarn.
Anyone wishing to use the Private features of the repeater are asked to
contribute a min. of $15.00 per year to go to the telephone interconnect
fund and will be given Two auto-dial slots with a Private code list.
Any local clubs are welcome to use the repeater at special events located
in Cary even if they want to use it partially to eliminate radio traffic
on a primary Simplex or another Repeater.
