1. Vigil (or Christmas) Light by Stiegel
   Amethyst (or purple?) glass, open pontil, embossed diamond lattice pattern, hanging wire still intact, height 3.8", circa 1760, near mint condition. Most likely made by Henry Stiegel since identical one pictured on plate 32 picture #16 (page 14) of McKearin's "American Glass" book; also see description on page 90 of this book. Bought from dealer Tom Hicks who said a group of these were recovered in the 1920s from a ship wreck off Bermuda. They were packed in amongst iron stones made by Stiegel.
