I'll get to the logo in a moment. But first, I'd like to mention that yesterday was the American release (two days ago the British) of the first Kate Bush album in over a decade. I've been looking forward to this ever since I found out she was releasing another album. Yesterday I drove straight from work to the music store and picked up a copy, and I've been listening to it as much as possible since. I don't think it's her best album ever (Hounds of Love still holds that distinction), but lord knows it's better than any of the demographically-approved, advertiser-friendly garbage you'll hear on the radio this week. I'd recommend everyone reading this go out and by a copy immediately, but at the risk of sounding arrogant, her stuff is over most people's heads. (If you think I'm opinionated about logos, you should hear me talk about music some time.) But if you've got an open mind and the willingness to give a few listens to an artist whose music rewards repeated listening in a way that all the "American Idol" finalists' never will, then check her out if you haven't already.

I considered just writing a review of the album instead of this logo, but I realize that more people reading this are interested in the logo I'm reviewing this week than in the album I bought last night. This is unfortunate, because this week I'm doing the Corpus Christ Rayz logo. You could record an album of a seven-year-old hitting High F on a piano for forty-five minutes and it would be more interested than this logo. I keep staring at the logo, trying to find something about it worth commenting on, and I keep getting distracted by the Kate Bush album.

This is what happens when you make a word the biggest portion of your logo. And it's not even in a particularly interesting font. It's just sort of there. And they stuck a a bad drawing of a ray in there. Oh, and since it's in Texas they put a Texas flag design on the ray. Wow, that's just so...

Hey, did you just hear that passage? Oh, I guess not. That's a pity; Kate Bush has a hell of a voice. But I'm supposed to be talking about this logo. Oh, the hell with it. The logo sucks dog and I just can't bring myself to care about it. I give up.

Damn cool album, though.
