Just What The Doctor Ordered!

1924 Ford Model T

We were fortunate several years ago to have Dale Earnhardt drive our Model T in an early model sportsman class. Dale indicated that even though our car wasn't a Chevy he didn't think he would have any problem since it was Earnhardt black. Despite the color, we still love the car. Of course we are kidding about Earnhardt, but Pat never misses an opportunity to take the bottom line against another era car. After about three laps of this, I made her stop and let me out. Mechanic or not, I kept on thinking about that right front wood spoke wheel that is over 70 years old. When it shattered I wanted to be standing in the pits. Needless to say, it is still standing up to the test of time.

This is Pat with her "new" Model T (original never restored). As can be seen the car features the Ford optional black paint. In addition it also has custom mag wheels (ash spoke), semi-automatic transmission (planetary), dual starting systems (electric or crank), dual ignition (magneto or battery), air conditioning (open windshield) and auxillary brakes (front bumper).

Our T is unrestored, with completely original upholstery. Obviously some of the paint has been touched up over the years. We drive it regularly. Wherever we take it, it bring out waves, smiles and stories.

This is an unusual picture! Its not very often that Pat lets Ralph drive!

No question about it, this is our favorite car! Every time we drive it, its a fun experience!
