Welcome to the Vinson's Family page. I live in the country, as you will see from my Tower Page, with my wife Martha and son Tommy. We also have a new edition "Bo" the "Wonder Dog". We live in a very quiet section of Wake County on my wife Martha's Dads farm. It's a very quiet and peaceful location where the deer are seen on a regular basis only feet from the house.
My name is Steve and I'm a Pharmacists by profession. I however am looking for a change in profession to something in the electronics field. I would like to get into the cellular industry but will need to get on the job training. I have worked as a pharmacist in both the independent and chain industry. I also have 26+ years experience in Emergency Medical Field. I have been certified as an EMT, EMT-D, and EMT-I. I also have 5 years of fire fighting experience. I have served several terms as an officer of our local Rescue Squad. I have served on several squads in years past.
Martha and I have been married since May 1972. She has worked as a medical transcriptionist at North Carolina Memorial Hospital, a secretary at Siemens Engineering, in accounting at Glaxo Pharmaceuticals, and currently in accounting at Siemens Power Transmission and Distribution, LLC. We both grew up in Zebulon and attended the same elementary, high school, and junior college. She worked at NC Memorial Hospital while I attended the School of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina. We were blessed with a son in January of 1978. Martha also got her amateur radio Technician license May of 1994. She currently holds the Treasurers position for TEARA (Triangle East Amateur Radio Association).
Tommy our son just graduated from high school and is now attending Johnston Community College. He is training for Diesel Mechanics and Heavy Equipment Maintenance. While attending East Wake High School he played football and Track, where he lettered in both. He threw shot put and disc in track. His hobbies are auto racing, hunting and fishing, auto restoration, and shooting. Tommy also received his Technicians licenses in May 1994. Tommy is now a volunteer fireman with the Zebulon Rural Fire Department.
He and I will start restoration this fall of the first fire engine the Zebulon Rural Fire Department put into service.
"Bo" the "Wonder Dog" joined us in April 1997. Bo and Tommy plan to do some hunting as soon as he has trained Tommy on the finer points of shooting ... Bo's favorite past time is playing in any body of water ... even his water bucket and dragging any thing not nailed down up on the deck!!!
