Jostle Lee - Press
"Just when you think the well of names for country-and-roots-honoring music has run dry, along comes another one to stand alongside the likes of y'allternative, twangcore, and alt. country. The latest is courtesy of Jostle Lee, a five-piece outfit based in Trinity, NC that refers to their appealing blend of rock, country, and user-friendly blues as "general store rock." Led by married couple Scott and Jenny Spillman on guitar and bass respectively, Jostle Lee makes music that suggests the influence of other husband-and-wife pairings such as Buddy and Julie Miller and Kelly Willis and Bruce Robison. The band's upcoming debut offers abundant joys including "Honeybee Dance" (kind of The Gourds meet Slim Harpo, or with Molly on vocals, Slimette Harpo), a cover of the Blood Oranges' "Thief", and the catchy, um, general store rock songs "Lovesick" and "Wicked World"." - The Independent Weekly, Best Bets Column - by Rick Cornell.

"Jostle Lee was one of our favorite peformances EVER ..." - Molly Matlock Parsons - Bynum Front Porch Series.

"Drink deep - this stuff is good for you." - Grant Britt - ESP Magazine.

"The talented husband and wife duo of Jenny and Scott Spillman have slowly built a roots rock band that has risen to become one of the finest Americana bands in the Triad. Their music pays homage to and has been influenced by everyone from Emmylou Harris to Buddy and Julie Miller to Whiskeytown." - Richard Emmett - The Garage - Winston-Salem
