Hope everybody's having a great holiday season so far. This is my
favorite time of year and I've been crankin up the Christmas songs for a couple of
weeks now. We hope to see everybody at The Cave this weekend or The Garage
next weekend (please see "gig schedule" for more details). It's been awhile
since we've had all six members of Jostle Lee on the stage together at one time,
but we will all be at the next two shows. Recent Jostle Lee highlights: a
little Jostle Lee air time on WXDU, some internet radio play on The Garage's
radio show , a brief mention in The
Independant from the Benefit for a Friend show ("Jostle Lee had charmed"), and
a Jostle Lee article in next weeks ESP Magazine by Grant Britt. Hope to see
you at the show!

We finally figured out that asking Jenny to take care
of her 2 yr.
old
daughter and 6 month old son while raising and selling
hostas, making
and
selling wreaths, trying to keep the house straight, trying
to keep her
husband
straight, be hostess to all that walk in and out the side
door, tend to
two dogs,
mow the grass, slop the hogs, milk the cows, rearrange the
furniture,
wash the
car, cook the food, adjust the antennea, rent the movies,
change the
diapers,
teach sunday school, change the oil, fix the flats, do the
grocery
shopping,
take out the trash, weed the gardens, plant the corn,
harvest the wheat,
bake
the bread, feed the chickens, gather the eggs, drive the
car, sing the
songs
and play the bass was too much for her to handle and still
have quiet
time to
herself. So we decided to all pitch in and do the right
thing. We
found
somebody to take over her bass duties. Frank comes to us
from
Greensboro, NC and
has been doing a great job in very little time. He's
already played two
gigs
with us and we are looking forward to many more. (editor's note: Frank was originally contacted to chip in on all those Jenny jobs above, but after careful deliberation, decided "bassist" was where his true talents were.

Now that Jenny and I have a newborn son in addition to our 2 yr. old daughter, Jostle Lee is going to take a six month break. All remaining shows for 2003 have been rescheduled or canceled except for July 12 (Tilty Farm) and Sept. 19 (Bynum General Store) and The Carrboro Music Festival on Sept. 28th 1:00-1:45 at the Music Loft Stage. In the meantime we are in the basement writing and recording some new songs. thanks, Scott
