make the trip look prettier than it really was. The overcast day
didn't help any.

The train passes
some pretty country, like the Tuckasegee River, above, and some pretty
run-down humanity.

OK, here are some pictures that show the
other half. According to the train conductor, the cars half-buried
in the river bank are there on purpose, planted to shore up the bank.
Yep, somebody passed that off as a good idea, and somebody else bought
it!
The rusty car is just a rusty car.
