SAMPLE MUSIC
Funky Birthday – my
funk-oriented instrumental interpretation of the classic “Happy Birthday” song,
two bass tracks, one slapped, and one fingerstyle,
plus a drum loop. The bass used on this
one was the Tobias Killer B-5, and it was recorded direct through a BBE BMax preamp…enjoy! FunkyBirthday.mp3
Primitive Existence – I
wrote and arranged this song, as well as playing bass and singing lead and
backup vocals. This one is a rock song
with a funk vibe to it, and was created for the Face of Friendship organization
for use in generating Hurricane Katrina relief funds in 2005. The bass line is entirely fingerstyle,
the bass used on this one was a Stingray5, and it was recorded direct through
an SWR SM-900’s preamp section. PrimitiveExistence.mp3
Rebuild the World – I
co-wrote and co-arranged this, as well as playing bass guitar. This song has a pop vibe to it, and was
created for the Face of Friendship organization for use in generating relief
funds for the Asian Tsunami in 2004. The
bass used on this was a Stingray5 recorded direct through an SWR SM-900’s
preamp. RebuildTheWorld.mp3
Another – On this one, I merely recorded
a bass line for a prior band-member’s folk song. To get the folksy vibe happening, I emulate
the sound of an acoustic upright bass by thumb-plucking a Dean fretless electric
high up on the neck. The bass line was recorded
direct through the BBE BMax preamp with the sonic maximizer section bypassed. Another.mp3
Ancient of Days – I did
the bass and drum tracks on this new arrangement of an old worship song. This arrangement has a funk/fusion vibe to
it. This is a rough mix…it’s still waiting on some guitar tracks. The bass used on this song was the Stingray5,
recorded direct through a Zoom B2.1u modeler using an SWR amp model. AncientOfDays.mp3
Meet With me –
Another worship song where I did the bass and drums to a different arrangement
from the original. This song has a
fairly straightforward rock groove. This
is also a rough mix, and waiting on some guitar tracks to call it finished. The bass used on this song was a Conklin
GT-5, recorded direct through a Zoom B2.1u modeler using an SWR amp model. MeetWithMe.mp3
